I have always made it a point in my teaching to include famous figures from BAME/BIPOC backgrounds in all of my teaching practise. Here is a collection of 7 profiles of famous french speaking individuals who have had a profound impact on our world. I chose one of these to be displayed on my french board every half term. I use these profiles to help the children understand french culture, it’s language and its impact to our society. I also use these profiles to interest and engage the children in our french lessons e.g. writing a profile in french about these individuals. I hope this makes life easier in your own classroom.
